I received my M.Sc. from the University of Helsinki in 2014, and have worked in the group as a PhD-student since 2015. My research interests lie in the regulation of sizes and shapes of organs during embryonic development. Much of what we know about organ development is based on relatively small model organisms. I aim to shed light on how changes in body and organ size affect the mechanisms regulating organ shape. Because teeth come in various shapes and sizes, they offer an excellent model for studying such questions! In my work I use comparative, experimental and computational methods to study how the interplay between size and shape works.
